Group size – Maximum of 12 children. Ratio – 1 Educator per 4 children
The Wallaby Day Care Room’s name comes from the Aboriginal name “Wara” which means ‘Wallaby’ and is derived from the Darumbal language
At Elfin House Community Child Care Centre we as Professionals believe early childhood is a unique, exciting and valuable stage in life and that with positive partnerships and teamwork, together, we can genuinely contribute to the best start in life for each child with play based learning. We are committed to providing a safe, secure and healthy environment for the children in our care.
We would like to welcome you and your child to the Wallaby Day Care Room. Children will experience both indoor and outdoor play. They will be encouraged to participate in a range of physical, creative and sensory experiences.
What is the main focus of the Wallaby Day Care Room?
To develop children’s’ self-help skills, self-settling at transition times and rest time, to assist with social development, communication development through the use of songs and books, and fine and gross motor skills.

Skye Pickering – Lead Educator (Studying Certificate 111 in Children Services) Bachelor of Primary Education
Laura Williams -Educator Certificate 111 in early childhood and education and Care in Children Services
All Elfin House Community Child Care Centre educators hold a valid Blue Card, Senior First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate and Asthma & Anaphylaxis Certificate

How will we communicate with you about your child and their day?
In the room you will find an information sheet. On this sheet you will find a column with information about your child’s day including sleep times and what they have eaten that day. You will also find our Daily News which contains news of the happenings in our room. Every month you will receive a newsletter which will inform you of changes within the room, future events and about our fun times in the room.
What should children bring to day care each day?
Morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, (include spare clothes, water bottles, creams/medication (if required).
For health and hygiene reasons we advise that you do not use insulated lunch-boxes.
